7th Period ACL Non Fiction: Space Probes by Philippe Seguela

Hello Class,
I recently read the book Space probes  by Philippe Seguela, although the artwork in the book is nice, it was a dull read. The book was about lunar exploration from ts early stages till now.  It all started of with the invention of rockets, that ran on liquid fuel. To today, where  martian roves land, using a airbag deploying system. The book also goes into great depths about the planets in our solar system, and where they were discovered.
Some questions I still have about the topic are about constellations. While the book did not necessarily market it self to talk about constellations, some information would have been a better read. I also would like to discover more on the subject of how the images were captured in this book. I think it is intriguing that one day our ancestors got up and said lets go to the stars, but I would of preferred some talk of pre-colonization space observing, to better round the experience.
Sincerely,
Sarah D.

This sounds really interesting, why is it a dull read? Is there too many details or is it like a textbook?

    Hi Adalie,
The reason I believe the book was a dull read is, while the content was very interesting, the wording was at a very advanced level.

You said it was a dull read, but it did give good information. Do you think it was worth it to read this book and would you recommend it to a friend?

I think that that the book is a good read when reasherching for an essay. However I would not recommend this book if you want to read it for fun.
