7th Period ACL Non-Fiction: Lou Gehrig by Paul Gallico

untitled (10)
Hey Class,
I am reading Lou Gehrig Pride of the Yankees by Paul Gallico. This book is all about one of the most famous baseball players. He was not only famous for his tremendous skill in baseball, but because he had a very rare disease called ALS. This disease makes you lose strength in almost every muscle in your body. Lou Gehrig gave a famous speech before dying about how ALS has affected his life.
Something that interested me about this topic is that my Grandpa also has this disease. I just wanted to learn more about this disease and its past. I also am a huge fan of baseball and play it myself, so I thought this would be a fun read. This book has really touched my heart knowing what my grandpa has been going through.
Thanks for Reading!
Layton S.

Nice blog post Layton, I really liked how you mentioned your grandfather in the passage. That really added an emotional, dramatic, and uplifting tone to your blog. I’ll make sure to keep an eye for it, besides I always wanted to learn more about ALS.

Thanks Jose, I find this book very interesting, it gives a lot of info about ALS, it definitely adds a emotional tug to my life situation, but even the book by itself is very tragic.

Is your Grandfather okay? Also, when does this book pick up on the baseballer’s life? Furthermore, since when did you start playing baseball?
