5th Period ACL Non-Ficton: Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

Hello Class,
I am reading the book Unbroken a true story about World War II pilot who crashes into the ocean. He is stranded in the ocean with 2 other survivors until a Japanese ship comes and picks them up. He is separated from his fellow crew and he is forced into a Prison Camp. He is forced into labor and he has to go through the hardships of being in a Prison Camp, like having not enough food or water. Even throughout the horrors of the Japanese Prison Camp he still remains Unbroken.
Something that interest me about this story is that how can he survive the worst conditions in such a bad prison camp with losing his faith. According to the book he spent about 3 weeks out in the ocean just to be captured by the enemy.  It is amazing what the human body does to survive any sorts of conditions. At least he had people with him along the way of these hardships.

Sincerely,

Jordan D
