3rd period ACL NonFiction This Star Wont Go Out Esther Earl

Hello Class,

Im currently reading This Star won’t go Out by Esther Earl, her parents and introduction by John Green. Esther has cancer and tells her stories through journal entries, picture and updates from her parents. Mostly full of journal entries she writes about how she came to find out how she got cancer and that she is not afraid of death. Esther explains her good days and bad days and her transitions from hospital to home then back to the hospital.

Some questions I still have are did she make any friends at the hospital while doing radiation and chemo? She talks a lot about her siblings and parents but hardly ever about any friends the she spends time with. Also, did she ever get  tired of having her family around all the time? Did she want time to herself without them just to write in her journal or even some time to herself? I can imagine spending so much time with them could get frustrating, With them hovering over you to make sure you are okay all the time.

That seems like a great book! I have always wanted to read it but, it seemed too long. I think I want to read it now. Also, I think Esther doesn’t really mind her parents around, she seems like she enjoys all the love and support she gets.

This sounds like a great book! Did you ever finish the book? How did everything work out for Esther?

Great blog! I loved it but I have a question what would it be like if you had cancer. Who would be supporters of you? Would you write journal entries about your experience? Post pictures on social media? Great blog once again!
