3rd Period Non-Fiction: The Complete Valley of the Kings by Nicholas Reeves and Richard Wilkinson

Hello Class,
I am currently reading THE COMPLETE VALLY OF THE KINGS by Nicholas Reeves and Richard Wilkinson. This book is about Ancient Egypt and the contents of and in the Valley of the Kings. Each pharaoh, or king, had a different impact on Egypt and it’s culture by bringing his ideas to the table. Ironically enough, not all the king’s were buried in the Valley of the Kings, but some in fact were buried miles away.

Something that interests me about this topic is how different Ancient Egypt’s culture is from everyone else’s. Their ideas and ways of life were so unique that it’s hard not to want to learn about it. The way of life back then was so fascinating I think because nobody’s ever seen anything like it before.

Thanks for reading!
Maddy S.

What is the Valley of the Kings? Is it where pharaohs were buried?

The Vally Of the Kings is where most Pharos are buried, but not all of them.

Why were they so different in their culture?

I think why they’re culture is so different is because they (the Ancient Egyptions) were kind of all by themselves over in Egypt, so their beliefs kind of focused on their explanations of the sun and plants, etc.
