6th Period ACL Language: Night by Elie Wiesel

Hello Class,

I have been reading the book Night by Elie Wiesel. Night is the incredible true story of Elie and his family during the Holocaust. He was part of a Jewish family and in 1944 his family was sent to Auschwitz as he was separated from his mother and sister. He is in the concentration camps just praying that him and his father will make it and also the rest of the family.

I like the way the author described the concentration camp. As they are arriving in the cattle car, they find the truth about the concentration camps. As Elie Wiesel describes in page 34.

“Never shall I forget that smoke.

Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw                   transformed into smoke under a silent sky.

Never shall I forget those flames that consumed my faith forever. “

The words he used to describe the camp created that image in your head. The image you thought of torture and you suddenly felt bad for everybody like his family and anybody else in that camp.

Sincerely,

Isaac D.
