3rd Period ACL Characters: Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

Hello class,
I’m currently reading Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, the first book in the Inkheart Trilogy. This books is a Fantasy. In the story, Meggie starts noticing some weird things about her father, like random people with odd names showing up in the middle of the night to deliver news to him. This is because Mo, Meggie’s father, is being wanted by a man named Capricorn, for his “skill”. Meggie didn’t know how weird the whole situation was until she discovers her father’s talent (no spoilers) and how Capricorn plans to use him. And that is when it all get turned upside down.
The character that interests me the most is Meggie because she’s only a young girl but she gets put through some really hard times, and still manages to get along. It’s amazing how mature she is for her age and it really makes her character stand out. If I had been in the position she was put in at her age, there’s no way I would’ve known what to do.
Thanks for reading,
Kelly K.

What makes Meggie mature for her age in your eyes?

One thing that makes Meggie mature in my eyes are that she’s able to come up with solutions to problems that most 12 year old’s wouldn’t be able to deal with. The situations she gets put into are very harsh and she ends up thinking outside the box and comes up with great plans to help herself, her father, and everyone else involved.
