Fun ways to make a change

Today we created Edible landforms to end our study on landforms. 

Popcorn words are words that keep “popping” in our reading and writing.   Here are the popcorn words we have learned in class.

Go on a popcorn word hunt and see how many you can find in your favorite stories!  Happy Hunting!

We have been busy in Writer’s Workshop making books!  We are focusing on drawing pictures all about one topic.  We are starting to add letters and words to our stories, making sure they match the pictures.  The children are enjoying making books on a topic that is meaningful to them.

While playing the game of Compare, I flipped over the following cards….  Leave a comment and tell me which card has the most  =)

In Science we created a texture chart.  We sorted objects that were rough, smooth, bumpy, pointy, soft, and hard.  Remember to use your five senses to learn about things around you!

This week we learned how to choose books that are a good fit for us!  We compared books to shoes.  Each type of shoe has a purpose and is a good fit for different activities.  Books are very similar, we need to choose books that will teach us something we are interested in, read books where we can read most of the words and read books we can comprehend!

Next time you pick up a book…..ask yourself-”Is this a Good fit for me?”
