Every year, I read A Roomful of Questions by Tracy Gallup. I am always amazed at the connections and responses made by the children. Enjoy!
During the year, the students have learned to synergize. They work together to help each other and to produce a better product. In this reading assignment, students read a non-fiction book together. As I was preparing for school on Thursday, I heard that it was National Chicken Dance Day. (Yes, there is a national day set aside to celebrate this dance.) It is my belief that we can learn by listening to others. I wanted to know what qualities children want in their teachers. So, I asked the students to share their thoughts. I loved their responses!
The children in Room 411 are published authors and illustrators! We celebrated the event by inviting our librarian, Ms. Young, to come talk to us. Then we had a book signing and spent time reading the book. This was followed by a celebration snack.
The class had a great discussion about the many reasons they love their principal. I want to thank Mrs.Jacob for always thinking of the children first, and for all of the support she gives to her faculty and staff.
