The Brain – by Jahannavi N.
I got interested in learning about the brain because we were studying about the brain in class. The brain is an important organ in your body that controls everything that is inside your body. There are four lobes in your brain. There are the frontal lobe, the parietal lobe, occipital lobe and temporal lobe.
In your brain there are tiny cells called neurons. There are about 100 billions of neurons in your brain. Your brain is folded so that it will fit inside your skull.
The parts of your brain perform different functions. The parietal lobe mainly senses pain, the occipital lobe helps your eyes see, the temporal lobe relates to memory and speech, and the frontal lobe helps with memory, planning and problem solving too.
You should always protect your brain. For example, you should wear a helmet when you go riding on your bike. You should never use drugs because they can hurt your brain and your cells can die. You should always take care of your brain.
Well I hope you have learned something new today and if you learned anything new, then you have grown some dendrites!

Dear Jahannavi,
Your post about the brain is awesome. I wanted you to know that the brain has more than a billion neurons in your brain! I learned about the brain when I was in third grade. Did you know there are about the same number of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy as the neurons in your brain?
