  4. Last Day of School Surprise

    June 6, 2013 by croset

To celebrate the last day of school, we enjoyed dirt and worms and sandy fish desserts. Yay!!

  5. Musical Chairs Art

    June 5, 2013 by croset

Surprise Day #2 was Art Day! We did musical chairs art, and it was SO MUCH FUN! I played music and they drew pictures until the music stopped. When they moved to the next chair, they added to that picture. It was a great activity!

  6. Summer Learning

    May 30, 2013 by croset

It’s that time of year to start thinking about what to do with your children this summer. Along with reading books, I want to urge you to please use some FREE resources that will be going home next week.

Your child’s reading workbook, math workbook, language arts workbook, and handwriting workbook will be going home next week. Once or twice a week, consider going over some of the pages out of the workbooks, along with istation (through 8/31) and Ticket to Read (through 6/31).

This will make fourth grade just a little bit easier!

  7. Pop!

    May 30, 2013 by croset

Today’s countdown surprise was getting to chew gum in class. Shhh! Don’t tell the office! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  8. Let’s Have a Picnic

    May 30, 2013 by croset

We’ve been counting down the end of school with a different surprise everyday. Yesterday, we celebrated with a picnic lunch out on the kinder patio (just in case it started to rain). We had a great time!

  9. These Are a Few of Our Favorite Books

    May 23, 2013 by croset

The kids helped me create a list of their favorite books from this year. Next year, it will be a bulletin board for my new third graders. Along with photos, they created summaries of why they loved these books. It should be an awesome display for my new class.

  10. Solar System Introduction

    May 16, 2013 by croset

We are starting our solar system unit in science. Yay! This is the probably the most popular unit in third grade. 🙂

This week, we are focusing on the Sun and next week, we will begin talking about the inner planets and the outer planets. One fun way to memorize the order is: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune).

Here is Colin with his brochure about the Sun,
